Quality Control
Ethically recycled plastics that meet the highest manufacturing requirements
Our quality and ethical standards ensure that every batch of recycled plastic meets the highest manufacturing requirements. At Bretcor Recycling, maintaining the highest quality of recycled plastic is our top priority. One of the biggest challenges in plastic recycling is cross-contamination, which can occur when non-plastic materials or different types of plastics mix during processing. Contaminated material reduces the quality of recycled granules, making them unsuitable for use in new products.
Our Quality Control Process
With over 25 years of experience, Bretcor has developed strict procedures to ensure that all recycled plastic meets industrial quality standards.
Our experienced team manually sorts all incoming materials and removes any non-plastic components.
We use proven testing methods — such as burn, flexibility, feel, and smell tests — to confirm each plastic type before granulation.
All plastic products are cleaned, cut, and prepared before processing. - We reject materials that are too dirty or contaminated (e.g., with oil or food residue).
Each batch is recorded and tracked from receipt to final granulation.
Our granulators are dedicated to specific plastic types to prevent residue mixing.
Equipment is thoroughly cleaned before processing a new plastic type.

Ethical Sourcing & Supplier Verification
At Bretcor, we are equally committed to operating with integrity. We take active measures to ensure that all material we process is ethically sourced and traceable.
1
Verified suppliers only
We only accept plastics from verified suppliers who complete our supplier declaration form.
2
Two week verification
Any new supplier’s material is stored for a two-week verification period before granulation.
3
Strict load checks
We carefully assess all incoming loads and reject materials that show signs of unclear origin or improper ownership.
These safeguards protect our partners from reputational and legal risk — and ensure that every kilogram of plastic we recycle contributes to a transparent, responsible circular economy.
These combined steps allow us to deliver high-quality, contamination-free, and ethically recycled plastic granules — a standard that has helped us build long-term partnerships with leading manufacturers across South Africa.
